Olena Kostevych Won Second Round at ISSF World Cup

On April 17, 2016, Olena Kostevych from Ukraine won the second round of the ISSF World Cup in Rio-de-Janeiro (Brazil). Olena qualified for the gold medal in 10 m air pistol.

Kostevych gained leadership after the starting round and kept building up advantage successfully. In the final duel, the Ukrainian faced Antoaneta Boneva from Bulgaria. Having a 5-point headstart before the last two shots, Olena managed to keep her first place effortlessly. Kostevych scored 201.7 points in total. Boneva, who came second, is 4 points behind. Teo Shun Xie from Singapore came third in this competition.

As noted, this victory is the seventh World Cup round victory for Kostevych but only the first in the latest four years. The last time the Ukrainian won such events was before the Olympics in London. In total, Olena has 15 medals won at various World Cups.

In 2016, Kostevych became the champion of Europe after winning the 10 m air pistol competition.
